About Graey

Graey is a line of contemporary clothing for mischievous women who relish unpredictability.  Garments are produced in New York at factories employed by Proenza Schouler and Nili Lotan. Graey weaves together traditional couture-inspired details and fresh artisanal experimentation to yield surprising touches, which has attracted customers from all over the world.  Since its launch, the line has received extensive press, including print coverage in NYLON, WWD, and Signature, and online coverage in DailyCandy, Glamour, StyleBubble, Fashionista and TimeOut NY.

About the Designer

Graey’s designer, Janet Kim, began her journey into fashion in an unconventional place – Harvard University. Her liberal arts college education gave Kim a broad and rich palette from which to draw inspiration and cultivate her artistic imagination, which she supplemented with more traditional internships and work experience at major fashion houses around the world. After a brief summer internship at Marc Jacobs, her professor graciously helped her secure a coveted internship at Christian Dior in Paris. While at Dior, she had her first taste of haute couture and knew immediately that this was a world of detail and style that she wanted to join. After graduation, Kim worked in production at Proenza Schouler before returning to Paris to study haute couture techniques at the famed Chambre Syndicale. Afterward, Kim returned to her native New York to try her hand at launching a line that would embrace her developing vision. What emerged was Graey.
